innovative
annual programming

A versatile place where you can see exhibitions and works in their entirety, but also learn more about contemporary digital art and its artists. An outstanding Museum that offers you a chance to wander in a virtual 3Dspace, in the very heart of an evolving architecture. Welcome to the Elektra Virtual Museum.

The Elektra Virtual Museum (EVM) goes far beyond the traditional definition of a museum, as it is accessible everywhere, by everyone. By building this museum, ELEKTRA aims to share its 20 years of expertise in the field of media arts and offer visitors a unique experience. Its vocation is to encourage and promote research and contemporary creation, to support artists from here and elsewhere, as well as to democratize access to digital arts.

The museum project is envisaged as a place of meeting, exchange and collaboration, and is part of the evolution of the museum in the 21st century. Here, architecture is freed from the constraints of the real world, from the calculation of forces, from scarcity of materials. The absence of technical and physical constraints allowed us to concentrate on aesthetic and purely formal research.

We have designed an innovative and creative building that integrates principles at the crossroads of current architectural trends, design and art ; A building with softened forms, inspired by a variety of trends and reflections.

We were inspired by the shapes generated by parametric architecture. This isa design method that uses CAD software based on algorithms, allowing the creation of complex and new forms or structures.

Neo-futurism and its idealistic approach of the future has also nourished our imagination. Jean-Louis Cohen, historian of XXᵉ century architecture and urbanism defined neo-futurism as "a corollary to technology, being the structures built today by products of new materials to create previously impossible forms."

Etan Jonathan Ilfeld wrote that in contemporary neo-futurist aesthetics "the machine becomes an integral element of the creative process itself, and generates the emergence of artistic modes that would have been impossible prior to computer technology."

We wanted to achieve a high level of architectural complexity and produce a form that, in a way, resembles those of nature, is bio-morphic, an organic form, with curves and diffracted volumes inspired by blob architecture.

The EVM offers you a unique 3D immersive experience, which goes evenfurther than the virtual tours already offered by ELEKTRA. Discover works of art that exist in the real world specially modelled and adapted for display in this 3D museum space. An unusual architecture that is itself part of the singular experience you will live. Between dream and reality, the Elektra Virtual Museum and its programming are constantly reinvented. Get ready to live a polymorphic, cognitive, immersive, visual, and sound experience.
